Big Stage Lacrosse Camp — NH, Maine & Vermont
The Big Stage Camp is 4 Leaf Lacrosse's official summer season opener
Three evenings of high-intensity, tournament-prep training for intermediate and advanced lacrosse players in grades 3–8 across New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont. Held in early June before the summer circuit begins, this is not a skills clinic where players stand in line and wait for a turn. This is game-speed work from the first whistle to the last, run by coaches who develop the best youth lacrosse players in Northern New England all year long.
Boys and girls sessions run at every location. Three states. Three venues. One standard of coaching. If your athlete wants to arrive at their first summer showcase sharper, more confident, and more prepared than the competition — this is how they get there.
What Is the Big Stage Camp?
Every spring, players wrap up their school or town lacrosse season and then hop right into the summer tournaments begin. The speed and intensity from their town season does not translate to the club season. They show up to their first tournament rusty, tentative, and a half-step slow. The Big Stage Camp closes that gap.
Three evenings of up-tempo, tournament-pace training right before the summer circuit starts. We designed this program around one simple observation: players who train at game speed in June perform better than players who do not. Everything in the Big Stage curriculum is built around that truth.
Tournament-Ready Training — What Players Work On
Every session is structured around three pillars. This is not a catch-and-shoot clinic. This is preparation for actual competition.
Tournament-Ready Drills & Situational Work
Up-tempo drills, transition sequences, and full-field situational scenarios built to mirror the pace of summer tournaments. Players are not warmed up slowly — they are pushed to match-speed intensity from the opening whistle. The goal is that when Game 1 of the first tournament arrives, the tempo feels familiar.
- Man-up and man-down situations
- Transition offense and defense
- Clearing and riding under pressure
- Late-game decision-making scenarios
Position-Specific Coaching — Every Role, Every Rep
Attack. Midfield. Defense. LSM. FO. Draw. Goalie. Each position group gets dedicated coaching from staff who have played and coached at the collegiate level. Goalies train with goalie-specific coaches — not a midfielder running a generic drill rotation. Every player gets reps in their role at every session.

Game-Speed Pressure Situations
Drills build habits. Live situations build competitors. Every Big Stage session includes extensive small-sided and full-field live reps — 2v2, 3v2, 4v3, fast breaks, restarts, and end-of-game scenarios — run at competition pace. Players learn to process reads and make decisions when it actually matters, not in a slow-motion drill environment.
Who Should Attend — Is Big Stage Right for Your Athlete?
Big Stage is designed for intermediate to advanced club players in grades 3–8 who are preparing for summer competition. It is a performance camp, not a developmental camp — the sessions move fast and the coaching is direct.
Your athlete is the right fit if they:
- Currently play club or travel lacrosse — or will in the upcoming summer season
- Want to gain an edge heading into summer tournaments and showcases
- Can handle fast-paced, competitive, high-rep training environments
- Are willing to receive coaching feedback and apply it in real time
- Are in grades 3–8 (boys or girls)

Frequently Asked Questions — Big Stage Lacrosse Camp
What is the Big Stage Camp and how is it different from a regular lacrosse camp?
Big Stage is a three-evening, high-intensity pre-season training program for intermediate and advanced players in grades 3–8. It is specifically designed to prepare club players for summer tournament competition, not to teach basic skills from scratch. Sessions run at game speed with live situational reps, position-specific coaching, and a competitive environment from start to finish. It is a different product from our summer day camps, which are four-day programs open to all skill levels.
Do players need to be on a 4 Leaf travel team to attend?
No. Big Stage is open to any club or travel lacrosse player in grades 3–8 regardless of what organization they play for. Many families from other clubs attend Big Stage as a standalone pre-season training program. It is also a natural first exposure to 4 Leaf coaching for families considering travel team tryouts in late July.
Is the Big Stage Camp for boys only?
No — boys and girls sessions are available at every location (NH, ME, and VT). Boys and girls train in separate time windows at the same venue on the same dates, so families with multiple athletes can coordinate logistics easily.
What grades are eligible for Big Stage Camp?
Boys and girls in grades 3 through 8 (graduation years 2030 through 2036) are eligible for all Big Stage sessions. If your athlete is outside this range, our summer day camps are open to grades K–10 and may be a better fit.
What should players bring to Big Stage Camp?
Full lacrosse gear is required at every session. Boys need: stick, helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, mouthguard, and cleats. Girls need: stick, goggles, gloves, mouthguard, and cleats. Everyone should bring a water bottle — sessions are two hours of high-intensity work. Arrive 10 minutes before the start time.
What happens if a session gets cancelled due to weather?
Big Stage sessions are held at indoor facilities in all three states — NH Sportsdome, Portland Sports Complex, and Forever Summer Fieldhouse. Indoor venues mean sessions run regardless of weather. Cancellation due to weather is extremely unlikely. Any cancellations or schedule changes will be communicated via email to registered participants.
How does Big Stage connect to 4 Leaf travel team tryouts?
Big Stage runs in early June and travel team tryouts follow in late July — giving players six to eight weeks of summer tournaments between the two events. Many players use Big Stage specifically as tryout preparation. Attending Big Stage does not guarantee placement on a 4 Leaf travel team, but it does give players the best possible opportunity to arrive at tryouts at the top of their game.
Can my child attend Big Stage in multiple states?
Yes. A player could theoretically attend the NH session in early June and the Maine or Vermont session the following week. Each session is a self-contained program. Contact drew@4leaflax.org if you have questions about attending multiple locations.
