4 Leaf Tryout Information 2026.27 Season

The 4 Leaf Tryout Process

4 Leaf is a New England–based elite lacrosse program built to bring together the top players from across Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts to form competitive teams that compete nationally.

Our tryout process is intentionally structured to ensure fair evaluation, competitive balance, and the strongest possible rosters.

STEP 1: OPEN TRYOUTS

We host regional Open Tryouts for all players, new and returning, within their region. This allows athletes to be evaluated close to home while giving our staff a broad look at talent across New England.

Open Tryout Notes:

  • Players must attend at least one Open Tryout

  • Players may attend multiple Open Tryouts in different locations if they wish

  • Open Tryouts offers an initial evaluation only and does not guarantee roster placement.

  • We use the open tryouts to create a smaller invite only selection to stage two of our tryout process.

Regional Tryout Locations

  • Portland, ME, Colchester, VT, Amesbury, MA, Hooksett, NH

STEP 2: CALL BACK TRYOUTS

Following the Open Tryouts, selected players will be invited to Call Back Tryouts. This is the final evaluation stage of the tryout process.

All invited players from every region compete together in one setting, allowing our staff to accurately compare athletes and build balanced, competitive teams.

Call Back Details:

  • Location: Exeter, NH

  • Players from all regions evaluated together

  • Final roster decisions are made at this stage

Attendance Requirement:

  • Attendance at BOTH stages of the tryout process is crucial for our team selection process.

  • Performance at Open Tryouts alone does not guarantee a player for selection
  • Call Backs is essential to forming true New England–based teams, not regional or state teams.

Why Call Backs Matter

While Open Tryouts identify talent regionally, Call Backs allow us to establish one standard across all regions. This ensures:

  • Fair and accurate player comparisons

  • Strong, balanced rosters

  • A competitive environment that pushes every athlete

Questions or Conflicts?

If you have a serious scheduling conflict with an Open or Call Back Tryout, please contact us in advance to discuss possible alternative evaluation options. Alternative evaluations are not guaranteed and are handled on a case-by-case basis.

We look forward to seeing you at the field.

Why 4 Leaf?

Year-Round Training, Close to Home

Once selected, players train year-round in their region in New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, and Northern Massachusetts. This model minimizes weekly travel while maintaining consistent, high-level development.

Players build skills, confidence, and momentum throughout the year without unnecessary travel demands on families.

Regional Training. National Teams.

Although training happens regionally, 4 Leaf teams are built at the New England level. We bring together the top players from ME, NH, VT, and MA to compete at the highest levels nationally.

Athletes get the best of both worlds:
local training + elite teammates + national exposure.

Tournament Preparation Designed for Families

We understand the demands of travel sports. To support families and multi-sport athletes, 4 Leaf schedules team practices the night before tournaments, wherever we are competing.

This structure:

  • Creates equal preparation for all players

  • Reduces unnecessary travel

  • Ensures teams arrive prepared, connected, and game-ready

Elite Coaching & Development Model

  • Year-round skill and team development

  • 120+ training opportunities annually

  • Multiple full-program training camps

  • Experienced, development-focused coaching staff

  • Two teams per age group, creating competitive depth and opportunity

How 4 Leaf Is Different

  • New England–based rosters, not state or town teams

  • Year-round regional training in ME, NH, VT, and MA

  • Tournament practices scheduled on-site

  • Multi-sport athlete friendly structure

  • Elite competition without excessive travel for training

4 Leaf is built for families who want elite development without chaos or guesswork.
